I’ve been using Quizlet with my classes recently. Quizlet is an online learning tool that allows you to write your own flashcards, including images. We use it for Spanish, but a range of languages is available, as are some maths and science terms. It would also be suitable for other subjects. If you switch on the audio,  you can listen to the word in your language as you go through the flashcards. Afterwards, you can test yourself with listening and visual vocabulary tests. There are also two timed games – a matching game and a timed typing game in which you have answer the question and type it in at high speed.

Previously, I had set up my own account and students saved their work to that. However, this year, most students have set up their own accounts. I set up classes and the students were able to join the classes and share the sets they created. In this way, we were able to create and share lots of flashcards between us. This link will allow you to see some of the sets we have created.

There is also a useful mobile app which has a number of the same features as the website.

It has worked very well, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to teachers and students.
